Nutrition Company CEO Accused of Illegally Peddling Steroids Lied to Court After Making Bail

Brooklyn federal prosecutors say a businessman accused of illegally peddling steroids told some tall tales about the details of a jaunt to California — and they want him locked up for the heavyweight fibs.
Fresh from release on a $300,000 bond weeks ago, Richard Rodriguez asked for court permission to go to the Golden State later this month because his itinerary included an interview for a consulting position with NBC Sports and a meeting with a lawyer to assist in his defense.
Except the Miami businessman had no interview, prosecutors said Tuesday.
The NBC exec who Rodriguez claimed he was meeting said there wasn't any interview and he gave Rodriguez a business card just to be nice when they sat together on a recent flight.
